Courts and Tribunals
Whether you are in the middle of a dispute or hoping to avoid one, we can guide you through the process and represent you in court or at a tribunal. From the outset, you will receive clear, realistic advice about your options and what to expect.
Many disputes are best resolved before a formal hearing. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) – such as mediations, pre-hearing conferences in the Magistrates’ Court, case conferences at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), and conciliation conferences at the Fair Work Commission – is usually held “without prejudice”. This means what is discussed cannot later be repeated in court, which encourages people to settle where they can. ADR often works best before litigation begins.
